Antique chairs

Antique chairs have a very long history. Models have even been found in the tombs of the Egyptian pharaohs. They were synonymous with power and authority. The First Chair itself appeared in Europe at the beginning of the fifteenth century. It was a mix between the Sella Curulis and the Arabian Field Chair . Featuring four crossed legs, carved back and seat base. At this point, the Antiques Chairs begin a rapid evolution that leads them to a wide diffusion. They were no longer only intended for the nobles but could also be found in the simplest homes. Naturally in these houses there were Models of Chairs with simple lines and low quality materials. It is in the homes of the wealthiest that chairs are influenced by the styles of all other furniture. The Antique Chairs, like all the other Furnishing Complements , were initially only for representation. Their purpose, therefore, was only to represent the social class to which one belonged. With social revolutions comes a furniture revolution as well. The Old Chairs and all the furnishings change their function. They become lived-in furniture and, therefore, their lines become simpler and more sober to be used in a simple way. The Antique Wooden Chairs thus become a fundamental part of the furniture. In our catalog you can choose from a wide selection of models of Style Chairs :

  • - Pair of Louis Philippe Chairs
  • - Neoclassical Chairs
  • - Baroque Chairs
  • - Style Chairs
  • - English Chairs
  • - Empire Style Chairs

and many others. One of the many advantages you can have in buying with us is to be able to take advantage of our Restoration and Upholstery Service . Modern chairs

Style Chairs have always been a fundamental part of home furnishings. After the industrial revolution, the Chair becomes an icon of Design . It is produced in an infinite number of models, materials and qualities. Thanks to the introduction of new production techniques and materials, it is therefore possible to find much more easily Modern Chairs that satisfy one's personal tastes. An element that distinguishes these Chairs is that they are no longer unique in their kind. In fact, in the past the furniture was unique in its kind as it was produced manually by skilled craftsmen. In the modern era, on the other hand, thanks to the industrial revolution, mass production began in factories. The Vintage Chairs , therefore, are no longer unique but do not lose their originality. It was precisely in these years that we witnessed a true development of interior design. Great personalities try their hand at a new professional figure: the designer. They design new Modern Chairs that once seen can never be forgotten due to their unique and extraordinary lines. Among the most famous models of Design Chairs we can find: the Superleggera by Gio Ponti, model 214 by Thonet, Silver by Vico Magistretti, Harry Bertoia chairs for Knoll, and many others .
